Demo

QR codes that count every scan

Each way in to an event (a flyer, a Meetup listing, a LinkedIn post) has its own link and QR code, and graphics in every size with that code on them. A scan goes through a short link that counts it (link previews don't count), then the visit and the registration are counted on the same row. After the event, the same printed code can send people to the next one.

Step by step

What happens

  1. 1

A way in for the flyer

Promote lists every way in with its scans, visits and registrations.

  2. 2

    Print its poster

Pick the way in, and get a square post, a story, a slide and a printable poster, each carrying its code.

  3. 3

    Someone scans it

Their camera opens the event page through the code's short link, and the scan is counted.

  4. 4

    They register

Email, name, what they hope to get. The confirmation goes out with their page.

  5. 5

    The flyer's row counts it

Scans, visits and registrations, so you know whether printing it was worth it.

Questions

About this demo

Do link previews inflate the scan count?

No. Previews from Slack, iMessage, LinkedIn, WhatsApp and others fetch the link without a person, and aren't counted.

Do you keep scanners' IP addresses?

No. A scan keeps when it happened, the kind of device and what it opened.

What happens to the code after the event?

It sends people to your next event, or to the series page, so printed codes keep working.
